Island Hall sets the scene for extra special events, helping people to celebrate significant birthdays, unique anniversaries and other milestone moments including baby showers and christening receptions.
For events we only offer exclusive hire, so you feel that Island Hall is your secret, enchanting home from home. Relax in the knowledge that your day or evening won’t be disturbed or overlooked.
Drinks on The Island or main lawn allow you and your guests to enjoy a tranquil setting and ancient unspoilt view across one of the largest water meadows in Europe, Portholme.
Why travel by car when you can make an entrance arriving by private boat? A seven minute boat journey can be arranged from an exceptional local hotel, The Old Bridge. A magical river arrival is something you will not find at other venues.
The intimacy of the house combined with large enough spaces makes a comfortable venue for lecture days, small meetings, cocktail receptions, lunch parties and corporate dinners. The house comes to life in the evenings with live music events, concerts and operas.
For larger events you may choose an enchanting marquee on the secret island.

Just a matter of minutes from historic the Grade I listed St. Mary the Virgin, parish church Godmanchester, it is the perfect tranquil and private setting to relish your exclusive hire of this historic riverside mansion. Classic Weddings
As a small family run and owned venue we pride ourselves on a bespoke service and in providing a venue which will be exclusively yours. We don't have specific packages, but prefer to tailor everything to suit you. Helping a maximum of 10 couples each year, we are the opposite of a 'conveyor belt' wedding venue! At Island Hall we have been running events for over 35 years and especially enjoy offering guests a unique Wedding Day experience.

The Island is surrounded by The River Great Ouse and overlooking Portholme, one of the largest water meadows in Europe and an area of outstanding natural beauty. Though easily accessible, once you arrive you enter a world of private, tranquil seclusion. We don't have specific packages, but prefer to tailor everything to suit you.

Wow guests with a unique boat arrival, greeting them with drinks on The Island before inviting them over the bridge to discover candle lit Island Hall and a superior dining experience waiting for them. Disabled Access
Essentially wheelchair access is possible, but not optimal.
The garden and ground floor of the house are accessible. Step free access is available via our courtyard and side entrance. A portable ramp suitable for wheelchairs can then provide access from the rear of the property. Our Ladies loo (which is on the ground floor) has plenty of space and a grab rail.
Once in the garden, though there is gravel as well as grass so the amount of garden which can be enjoyed depends on the type of wheelchair.
